Fired FBI Director James Comey Trolls President Trump Over LaVar Ball Comments

- November 19, 2017

Former FBI Director James Comey, apparently still smarting over being unceremoniously fired by President Donald Trump earlier this year, took to Twitter Sunday afternoon to troll Trump over the president’s response to LaVar Ball, the ungrateful father of one of the three UCLA basketball players freed by China from shoplifting charges after Trump personally intervened with China’s President Xi Jinping.

Comey, as is his haughty, cowardly modus operandi, used a historic quote to attack Trump indirectly rather than take him head on, just as Comey did when he anonymously leaked FBI documents to the press to attack Trump.

“A good leader takes a little more than his share of the blame, a little less than his share of the credit.” Arnold H. Glasow(1905-1998)

Earlier on Sunday, Trump had tweeted, “Now that the three basketball players are out of China and saved from years in jail, LaVar Ball, the father of LiAngelo, is unaccepting of what I did for his son and that shoplifting is no big deal. I should have left them in jail!”

As reported earlier by TGP’s Joshua Caplan, Trump was responding to disrespectful comments by LaVar Ball made to ESPN.

“Who?” LaVar Ball told ESPN on Friday, when asked about Trump’s involvement in the matter. “What was he over there for? Don’t tell me nothing. Everybody wants to make it seem like he helped me out.”

UCLA freshmen LiAngelo Ball, Cody Riley and Jalen Hill, who had been detained in China on suspicion of shoplifting, landed in Los Angeles on Tuesday evening and addressed the media on Wednesday before being indefinitely suspended by the team.

…”As long as my boy’s back here, I’m fine,” LaVar Ball told ESPN. “I’m happy with how things were handled. A lot of people like to say a lot of things that they thought happened over there. Like I told him, ‘They try to make a big deal out of nothing sometimes.’ I’m from L.A. I’ve seen a lot worse things happen than a guy taking some glasses. My son has built up enough character that one bad decision doesn’t define him. Now if you can go back and say when he was 12 years old he was shoplifting and stealing cars and going wild, then that’s a different thing.

“Everybody gets stuck on the negativity of some things and they get stuck on them too long. That’s not me. I handle what’s going on and then we go from there.”

Seems like James Comey should be addressing the father who thinks it is no big deal his son caused an international incident embarrassing the United States rather than President Trump who intervened to save his son from serving time in a Chinese prison.
