Once Democrat Doug Jones was announced the winner of the Alabama Senate race over Republican Roy Moore, the watch began to see how President Donald Trump would react to his endorsed candidate losing.
Well, the wait is over. Trump has tweeted, and the contents are quite shocking:
Congratulations to Doug Jones on a hard fought victory. The write-in votes played a very big factor, but a win is a win. The people of Alabama are great, and the Republicans will have another shot at this seat in a very short period of time. It never ends!

Wow. That’s…that’s…actually very nice and gracious.
Everything is spelled correctly, along with proper punctuation and capitalization. And he didn’t call anyone weak or a loser.
Did an election loss where the Republican should have won by double digits finally teach the President some humility and restraint? Did his staff finally seize control of his phone? Is he finally becoming “presidential,” after all this time?
Regardless of the reason why, this is truly a shocking tweet.
