The Washington Post predicted early on Wednesday President Donald Trump’s Fake News Awards would be a flop. Later Wednesday after the awards were posted to the GOP website, crashing the servers, the Post pronounced the awards a “huge flop”. Trump’s Fake News Awards were number one on Google, Twitter and AOL Wednesday night, adding another fake news feather in the cap of the Post which won one of the eleven Fake News Awards.
“5. Washington Post FALSELY reported the President’s massive sold-out rally in Pensacola, Florida was empty. Dishonest reporter showed picture of empty arena HOURS before crowd started pouring in.”
.@DaveWeigel @WashingtonPost put out a phony photo of an empty arena hours before I arrived @ the venue, w/ thousands of people outside, on their way in. Real photos now shown as I spoke. Packed house, many people unable to get in. Demand apology & retraction from FAKE NEWS WaPo! http://pic.twitter.com/XAblFGh1ob

The Post’s tweets link to an article by Callum Borchers that gloats over the GOP.com servers crashing. The article was updated from an earlier version predicting a flop. You see how this works. But in this era, the Post’s word is not the final word on the matter.
Internet giants Google, Twitter and AOL publish the most popular trending subjects. And Wednesday night the most popular subject on all three sites was Trump’s Fake News Awards.
