BREAKING: Sen. Ron Johnson Demands OBAMA, HILLARY, COMEY & MCCABE EMAILS After Strzok-Page Texts Raise RED FLAGS

- Februari 02, 2018

In a letter sent Thursday, Senate Homeland Security Chair Ron Johnson (R-WI) is demanding Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein produce additional texts and emails from 16 FBI officials, including former FBI Director James Comey and Deputy Director Andrew McCabe.

Johnson has asked for the communications due to concerns that private phones were used to conduct government business. Johnson also asked for emails exchanged between former President Obama and Hillary Clinton, while the then-Secretary of State was reportedly in “territory of a sophisticated adversary.”

Additional text messages sent and received by disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok were recently handed over to Congress, reported the AP.

Buried in the report are text messages between Strzok and FBI lawyer Lisa Page discussing how hackers likely obtained an email exchange between then-President Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.

The exchange was later covered-up by the FBI after the incident was removed from Comey’s closing statement on Clinton’s email investigation.

AP reports:

One of the messages references a change in language to Comey’s statement closing out the email case involving Clinton, Trump’s Democratic opponent in the 2016 presidential election. While an earlier draft of the statement said Clinton and President Barack Obama had an email exchange while Clinton was “on the territory” of a hostile adversary, the reference to Obama was at first changed to “senior government official” and then omitted entirely in the final version.

A day after the New York Times reported FBI Director Christopher Wray confronted outgoing Deputy Director Andrew McCabe over unspecified findings in Horowitz’s report, the Washington Post revealed the embattled bureau official is being probed over his role in examining emails found on former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s laptop.

Johnson’s letter follows another report revealing McCabe delayed notifying Congress of Hillary Clinton emails discovered on ex-Congressman Anthony Weiner’s laptop.

Wall Street Journal reports:

Top FBI officials were aware for at least a month before alerting Congress that emails potentially related to an investigation of Hillary Clinton had emerged during a key stretch of the 2016 presidential campaign, according to text messages reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe had learned about the thousands of emails by Sept. 28, 2016, and Director James Comey informed Congress about them on Oct. 28, 11 days before the presidential election, the messages show.

Reporter Sara A. Carter told Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday evening that Michael Horowitz, Justice Department Inspector General, is investigating whether or not outgoing FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe asked bureau agents to “change their 302s.”
