This Is the Latest Company to Announce SWEET Benefits From the GOP Tax Plan

- Februari 02, 2018

The list of companies and their employees reaping the benefits of the GOP’s newly signed tax plan continues to grow.

The latest to announce bonuses for employees, as a result of the tax plan is Hostess, and I must say, what they’re doing for their employees is sweet.

Literally.

Hostess Brands Inc. announced it will give workers one-time bonuses of $1,250 and one year of free snacks as a result of the new GOP tax legislation.

That’s right, folks – a year’s worth of Ding Dongs, cupcakes, Twinkies, SnoBalls, Ho Hos, and Zingers.

How it will work is that each week of this year a representative from one of the company’s bakeries will choose a particular product and employees get to take a box home.

Nice.

That’s probably one of the more unusual bonus payouts that I’ve heard of, so far.

So what about the money?

Workers will receive the monetary bonus in the form of $750 in cash and a $500 contribution to their 401k.

Hostess Executive Chairman C. Dean Metropolous told Bloomberg in a statement that the changes to the tax plan have allowed the company to alter its benefits structure.

“The company’s management and board take great pleasure in sharing the company’s success with our employees,” he said.

That’s great news for employers and employees, alike.

Hostess isn’t the only company to announce benefits on Thursday.

UPS and Lowe’s on Thursday also announced changes. Lowe’s will expand benefits for employees and pay out bonuses of up to $1,000. UPS will boost pension funding as part of $12 billion in investments.

All gravy.
