During the past few years, Ann Coulter has branded herself as a hardliner among hardliners on the issue of immigration, but several tweets this evening exhibited extreme-sounding rhetoric, even for the firebrand blonde.
From her book and columns complaining about the “browning of America” to her infamous tweet during the GOP presidential primaries that she supported Donald Trump’s immigration plan so much that she didn’t care if he wanted to perform abortions in the White House, Coulter has positioned herself among the far right when it comes to immigration, and prioritized that issue above all others traditionally found in the Republican platform.
Tonight’s controversy started when Breitbart Texas Managing Director Brandon Darby tweeted at someone who had replied to a Breitbart article about a convicted criminal caught illegally crossing the United States – Mexico border with a call to “execute” such people. Darby, who also serves as the Director of Breitbart’s Cartel Chronicles project covering border control and drug cartel stories, questioned whether executing migrants at the border was truly Christian.
Interesting that a guy with “born again Christian” in profile calls for executing migrants at the border. Maybe pray about that first, bro. https://t.co/g7lR6eiRNH

And that’s when Coulter joined the conversation, rejecting Darby’s Biblical interpretation and saying that “God frequently commanded his people to kill ‘every living thing.'”
Only to someone who’s never read the Bible. God frequently commanded his people to kill “every living thing.”. https://t.co/bAwZ1FvtJm

Darby replied with an offer to send Coulter a free New Testament, since her Bible “seemed to be missing that part.”
Send me your PO box, Ann. I’ll send you a copy of the New Testament. Your Bible seems to be missing that part. https://t.co/AkoUBW96x3

I’m no theological scholar, but Coulter could have found some helpful language in the Old Testament as well, particularly those verses in Exodus 20:1-17 that spell out “Thou shall not kill” and several other directives in very clear language.
What are they called again? Oh, yeah. Commandments. Pretty basic stuff Christians learn in Sunday School as very young children. Not quite sure how the well-educated Coulter missed all that, but oh well.
Anyway, Coulter then threw an odd retort back at Darby that, “Jesus isn’t Mohammed. It’s the same God.”

Darby tweeted a reference to a recent column by Coulter titled, “We Used To Care About One Another,” and lamented the “attitudes of many Christians” that he found to be “disturbing.”

As a Christian, I find some of the attitudes of many Christians to be disturbing. Maybe it’s just me…

Is Coulter really calling for the death penalty for illegal immigrants? Sure sounds that way. “Disturbing,” indeed.
