In the early hours of Tuesday morning, when a man near Detroit was threatening to jump off of a freeway overpass, Michigan State Police came up with a unique solution. They asked semi truck drivers to come park beneath the bridge so that, if they were unsuccessful in preventing the man from jumping, they would be there to catch him. Thirteen semi-trucks helped the man in need, who decided not to jump and is receiving care.
This photo does show the work troopers and local officers do to serve the public. But also in that photo is a man struggling with the decision to take his own life. Please remember help is available through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. pic.twitter.com/RBAlCIXT1o
