28-year-old Ocasio-Cortez defeated incumbent Rep. Joe Crowley, 56, in the New York primary elections Tuesday night, knocking out the 10-term incumbent who represented New York’s 14th congressional district in a blowout 58 percent to 42 percent (approximate with 88 percent in). The victory by Ocasio-Cortez marks the fifth defeat by female Democrat Socialists of male Democrat incumbents in recent state and House primaries. (Details at end of this article.)

The defeat of Crowley, the 4th most powerful Democrat in the House as Chair of the House Democratic Caucus who was touted to replace Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi one day, is reminding observers of the 2014 defeat by Tea Party supported David Brat of House Majority Leader Eric Cantor in the Republican primary in Virginia and could lead to a long-anticipated generational power shift in the Democratic House caucus.
Ocasio-Cortez is a member of the Democratic Socialists of America who ran on a communist-style platform of guaranteed jobs, housing, free education and healthcare. Ocasio-Cortez also campaigned to abolish ICE
The Washington Post‘s Jeff Stein was kind enough to post an Ocasio-Cortez campaign flyer detailing her platform.

Ocasio-Cortez on Israel defending itself from Hamas-led efforts to infiltrate Israel under the guise of protests:
“This is a massacre. I hope my peers have the moral courage to call it such. No state or entity is absolved of mass shootings of protesters. There is no justification. Palestinian people deserve basic human dignity, as anyone else.
Democrats can’t be silent about this anymore.”

Here is video of Ocasio-Cortez on abolishing ICE, “ICE is operating exactly as designed when it rips screaming children from parents. That’s exactly why we must abolish it. We MUST have the moral and political courage to #abolishICE. Weak half-measures do nothing. This is a defining moment of our time – the time to act is now.”

Good luck with that Blue wave in November, Democrat (Socialists).
UPDATE: President Trump tweeted about Crowley’s defeat, “Wow! Big Trump Hater Congressman Joe Crowley, who many expected was going to take Nancy Pelosi’s place, just LOST his primary election. In other words, he’s out! That is a big one that nobody saw happening. Perhaps he should have been nicer, and more respectful, to his President!”

Last month four candidates backed by Democratic Socialists won Democrat primaries for Pennsylvania state House races. Three of the candidates are in safe Democrat seats, pulling the party further Leftward. The fourth is up against a Republican incumbent.
All four winners were female candidates running as Democrats for state House seats, including two from the Pittsburgh area, Summer Lee and Sara Innamorato.
Lee and Innamorato defeated incumbent Democrats in the heavily Democratic districts southeast and north of Pittsburgh, respectively, and are running unopposed by Republicans in the November elections.
The two other Democratic and DSA-backed winners in the Pennsylvania races Tuesday night were Elizabeth Fiedler and Kristin Seale in the Philadelphia area, another Democratic stronghold.
Fiedler is also running unopposed, while Seale, who won by roughly 1 percentage point, faces Republican incumbent Rep. Christopher Quinn, according results from the Pennsylvania Department of State.
All four women defeated male incumbents in the races.”
