Speaker Paul Ryan held a press conference Thursday and said he does not support the impeachment of DAG Rod Rosenstein.
Paul Ryan said he supports oversight of the Executive branch but refuses to actually do something about Rosenstein’s continued stonewalling and intimidation tactics.
“Do I support impeachment of Rod Rosenstein? No I do not,” Paul Ryan said to a reporter.

A group of 11 House Republicans led by Rep. Mark Meadows filed articles of impeachment against DAG Rosenstein on Wednesday.
The impeachment articles accuse Rosenstein of withholding pertinent documents from Congressional oversight.
I just filed a resolution with @Jim_Jordan and several colleagues to impeach Rod Rosenstein. The DOJ has continued to hide information from Congress and repeatedly obstructed oversight–even defying multiple Congressional subpoenas.
We have had enough.

The plan is to continue to apply pressure to produce DOJ docs but keep impeachment/contempt on the table, reports Chad Pergram.
Multiple sources tell Fox there will be no effort to impeach Dep AG Rod Rosenstein today. There was a huddle on the flr w/Scalise, Jordan/Meadows & Goodlatte. Plan is to continue to apply pressure to produce DoJ documents but keep impeachment/contempt on the table

The House leaves for a one month break starting Thursday so the vote to impeach Rosenstein would have to resume in the Fall.
Paul Ryan is not seeking re-election in November so hopefully the next Speaker of the House will be a Trump supporter.
