New York – A loan officer for Trump’s former campaign chairman Paul Manafort was robbed of his iPad and briefcase in a mysterious overnight break-in.
38-year-old David Fallarino was Paul Manafort’s banker [loan officer] at Citizen’s Bank and told law enforcement he left the terrace door of his NYC penthouse open before he went to bed Monday night, reported NBC.
Fallarino, 38, said he heard a noise around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday and went out to find a crow bar on the terrace, the sources say. There were no apparent signs of forced entry, the sources say, but Fallarino reported his wine cabinet was open and there was a bottle of wine on the floor. The briefcase, iPad and sneakers were the only items missing, the sources said.
Mueller’s prosecutors did not call Fallarino to testify in the bank and tax fraud case against Paul Manafort, however; his two assistants and his underwriting supervisor gave their testimonies.
Fallarino’s assistants were questioned by Mueller’s prosecutors over emails he sent Paul Manafort giving him guidance on how to navigate through the loan approval process. The prosecution asserted the loan officer was giving Paul Manafort instructions on how to falsify financial documents to get approved for a loan.
The prosecution was criticized for not calling Fallarino to testify being that he was Manafort’s main point of contact at the bank.
Five other people testified against Manafort under the protection of immunity, including his accountant.
Last week jurors found Manafort guilty on 8 felony counts and a mistrial was declared by Judge Ellis on the remaining 10 counts.
Paul Manafort faces 80 years in prison; President Trump is considering a pardon for Manafort.
No suspect or suspects have been identified in the robbery at the time of this publication.
