BREAKING: San Ysidro Port of Entry in San Diego Closes in Border Showdown with Honduran Migrants

The US Customs and Border Protection in San Diego, California announced Sunday morning that the San Ysidro port of entry going both northbound and southbound have been closed due to multiple planned demonstrations on both sides of the border.

Additional personnel and resources were also deployed to the port of entry.

VIA CBP: Southbound lanes into Mexico at the San Ysidro port of entry are currently closed. Updates will be provided.

CBP: In addition, northbound vehicle traffic processing at San Ysidro is currently suspended. Updates will be provided as they become available.

CBP: Pedestrian crossings at the San Ysidro port of entry are also suspended at both the East and West facility.

Maya Averbuch, a reporter based in Mexico captured photos of the migrant caravan marching to the San Ysidro port of entry.

AVERBUCH: Line of Mexican federal police now blocking the overpass to the San Ysidro port of entry. Chief of federal police in Baja California said this morning that their goal was to maintain order.

AVERBUCH: Mexican police corralling marchers who got near the crossing to the US but were unclear about where to go. Police using shields to block passage.
