Former CIA Director went on CSPAN in September 2018 and accused The Gateway Pundit of posting racist remarks in our report on former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva who plays for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
In September 2017 former Army Ranger Alejandro Villanueva was the ONLY Steeler to come out of the locker room on the field for the National Anthem before his Sunday game. The Gateway Pundit cheered Alejandro for being the only Steelers player to stand at attention during the National Anthem at the home game in Pittsburgh.
Villanueva stood with his hand over his heart and sang along with pride during the National Anthem.
In September 2018 former CIA Director Michael Hayden went on CSPAN to promote his new book, The Assault on Intelligence. During his appearance, to our amazement, General Hayden accused The Gateway Pundit of “getting racial pretty quick” when reported on Villanueva. Hayden accused The Gateway Pundit of publishing racist comments about the story.
Of course this was completely inaccurate and irresponsible statements.
General Hayden is also on the Advisory Board at Newsguard, a controversial anti-Trump “fact check” group that targets and smears conservative publishers.
Last week our lawyer sent the attached letter to Mr. Hayden demanding a correction.
