I’ve been doing political blogging for over fifteen years and I’d deceived myself into believing that I was sufficiently jaded and cynical that I couldn’t be shocked by anything the Democrat party would do. This week has proven me wrong.
Earlier in the week, America’s Rain Man, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, equated detention camps for illegal aliens to Nazi death camps. Just in case you couldn’t follow here convoluted reasoning, she went to Instagram with a video that included this bit of nonsense:
I have a lot more time on my hands now that 2nd grade just ended and we don’t do much in Congress these days except watch old movies and make promises with other peoples money. Did you know that?Speaking of old, I hope Nervous Nancy Pelosi likes my new video.#MALA pic.twitter.com/PGCrzrtBVE

Sorry, wrong video, this one:
The U.S. is running concentration camps on our southern border, and that is exactly what they are. I want to talk to the people that are concerned enough with humanity to say that ‘never again’ means something.
I’ve read stuff by people who I know know better going along with the concentration camp bullsh** because, I can only assume based on the most charitable construction, that they simply hate Trump more than they like either the truth or border security. Detention camps are not internment camps. Neither are concentration camps. None of these are extermination camps or forced labor camps like those in Germany and German-occupied Europe between 1933 and 1945. Each of those facilities has a very specific meaning. Characterizing them as extermination camps is simply the kind of stupidity and mendacity we’ve come to associate with AOC and her defenders.
While most Democrats ran like scalded dogs from the accusation that DHS was running proto-death camps in the America, Fat Jerry Nadler, the pustulent goblin who runs the House Judiciary Committee agreed with her:
One of the lessons from the Holocaust is ‘Never Again’ – not only to mass murder, but also to the dehumanization of people, violations of basic rights, and assaults on our common morality. We fail to learn that lesson when we don’t callout such inhumanity right in front of us. https://t.co/EEBBkVL7FG

Let’s be clear here. The people in the detention centers made a voluntary decision to illegally cross into the United States for a variety of purposes. To a great extent, they were lured here by the policies put in place by a Democrat president who rewarded illegals bringing children into this country with a quasi-permanent status for the children and a great deal of protection from deportation for the parents. The options available to the US government aren’t great but they are binary. Either we stop enforcing immigration laws or we have to detain the lawbreakers. The people there are not dehumanized. They are not deprived of rights. If your morality is offended by an administration taking its duty and responsibility to citizens and resident aliens seriously, you can just f*** right off and go play in the street or something. The people in detention can literally leave at any time they wish…and get a free ride home with probably at least a bag lunch to tide them over.
If you actually thought there was any moral equivalence or physical resemblance between our facilities that are used to detain, screen, and process illegal immigrants and concentration camps of the Boer War or death camps, you’d have more of an obligation than merely “callout” the situation. Either Fat Jerry is a moral imbecile who can’t bring himself to take any real risk to prevent what he thinks is a great wrong or he’s just a lard-filled hack trying to get the attention of a woman forty years his junior by defending her indefensible stupidity. Either way, it is a pathetic spectacle.
I think that hi-altitude belt of his is cutting off oxygen to his brain https://t.co/nzwLxMrXFU
