Police in Texas just revealed that the Odessa shooter had a criminal record. Sounding more and more likely that he was in possession of a gun illegally. A new gun law can’t stop a shooter if the shooter is already using a gun illegally.

Governor Greg Abbott called for keeping weapons “out of criminals’ hands” in a tweet on Monday.
He noted the Odessa shooter had failed a background check.
Not only did the Odessa gunman have a criminal history…
…he also previously failed a gun purchase background check in Texas…
…& he didn’t go thru a background check for the gun he used in Odessa.
We must keep guns out of criminals’ hands. https://t.co/vgrqcHtBtF
