Shock and Awww: Rep. Luis Gutiérrez, Democrat, Accuses Donald Trump of Using Rhetoric for Political Gain

- Juni 25, 2018

Rep. Luis Gutiérrez has charged Donald Trump with an unimaginable crime — the President has been accused of using the political issue of immigration “to energize his base.”

How dare he?!

Gutiérrez made the allegation as a guest on ABC’s This Week Sunday:

“The president uses words like ‘they’re breeders,’ ‘in sanctuary cities they’re protecting breeders.’ He said yesterday ‘they come to infest.’ I mean, these are the kinds of words that the Republican Party and this president uses. And he doesn’t use it as immigration policy, he doesn’t use it as border control policy, he uses it as an issue in order to energize his political base for the midterm elections.”

Does Gutiérrez realize he’s a Democratic — a party which constantly attempts to leverage issues of humanity against its foe?

Apparently not:

“It’s wrong to separate babies, to use cruel, inhumane policies in order to gin up your political base.”

In that one sentence, he did the exact thing he was accusing the President of doing.

But that’s the way it goes, folks.

It should be noted that, when Trump used the word “infest,” he was referring to MS-13, the most deadly gang in American history. The El Salvadorian criminal enterprise is known for chopping up its victims with machetes.

That wasn’t the way it was reported by CNN, however. The left-wing mouthpiece asserted this instead:

“President Donald Trump amplified his heated immigration rhetoric on Tuesday, accusing Democrats of wanting migrants to ‘infest our country’ and turning a speech on the economy into an angry tirade defending his harsh stance.”

[Advice for an “objective news” organization: Don’t use the word “harsh” in your article.]

It should also be noted that, according to CNN, Trump didn’t refer to illegal immigrants as an infestation; rather, he applied the insult to “migrants.”

Migrants: you know — just people moving around. Not illegal immigrants, mind you; migrants. Please read more about this pervasive use of strategically deceptive language here:

What does the congressman think about Democrats using rhetoric such as “deplorables,” “white supremacists,” “racists,” “xenophobes,” “homophobes,” “transphobes,” “child haters,” “misogynists,” and “klansmen” to energize their base? Just a thought.

Oh, and here’s a third thing to note: Luis Gutiérrez is ridiculous.

What do you think about Gutiérrez’s allegation? I’d love for some of you NeverTrumpers to contribute.
