Reports: ‘Kill Kavanaugh’ Teaching Assistant Placed on Leave, FBI ‘Aware’ of Threatening Tweet

A Special Education teaching assistant in Rosemount, Minnesota has been placed on paid leave while she is investigated for a tweet posted Saturday that called for newly confirmed Supreme Court Justice Brett  Kavanaugh to be killed, according to reports.

The tweet, which was taken down by Twitter before the poster’s account was deleted, read, “So whose gonna take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?”

Mark A. Zuzek, Superintendent for Intermediate School District #917, posted a statement online Monday.

Over the weekend, the district has received a complaint regarding an employee.  The employee has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation.

Pursuant with the data practices act, we are limited to providing additional information regarding this matter.

The Website Heavy.com has identified the teacher as Samantha Ness.

Samantha Ness has been identified as the woman who wrote a tweet that referred to killing Brett Kavanaugh.

Ness, an employee at the Alliance Education Center in the Rosemount School District. Though her tweets have since been deleted, a web cache of her Twitter account reveals that she tweeted on Saturday (following Kavanaugh’s Senate vote), “So whose going to take one for the team and kill Kavanaugh?”

She later followed up with a subsequent tweet, “Brett kavanaugh will be dealing with death threats for the rest of his life being on the Supreme Court. I doubt my mid-west ass is a real threat”

The Dakota County Sheriff’s Office posted a statement to Twitter that the FBI is “aware” of the threat would “follow up as appropriate.”

Our Office is aware of an incident involving alleged social media use by an employee of a school withinDakota County. Neither the City of Rosemount Police Department nor our Office are currently investigating any incidents we believe to have happened at the school. (1/2)
