United States President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump are visiting Tokyo, Japan, in the first state visit of a foreign leader in the country’s Reiwa era.
The Reiwa Era began on 1 May 2019, the day on which Emperor Akihito’s elder son, Naruhito, ascended the throne as the 126th Emperor of Japan.
President Trump will meet with Emperor Naruhito during his visit.
The president also attended a sumo wrestling tournament and handed out the trophy to the champion.
The crowd loved it.
